The Girls' Room

For the last week we've been transforming one of Sean's extra bedrooms into a beautiful girls' room. My mom was here the weekend before Thanksgiving and helped with the painting. The trim went from red to white. The walls from green to yellow. When Sean moved into the house the walls were black with primary colors splattered on them. The green he painted them was nice, but not girly. And to make it theirs, we let the girls choose the color - within reason.

We moved the Monet picture from above Sean's fireplace to above Julia's bed. I love having something pretty to look at as I walk down the hall.

The room wasn't designed for two twin beds, but the closet is so huge it works anyway. The closet doors are still in the process of being repainted... I'm hoping seeing into the closet will help the girls keep it neat until it becomes habit.

I haven't hung their bulletin boards yet. I'm kind of enjoying the clean walls.

I think my favorite organizing tool was the behind the door organizer that used to hold my grandmother's shoes. I was afraid I was going to have to go through the stuffed animals and thin out their herd. Luckily all the little ones fit on the door.

I'm pretty sure they like it. They were so tired when we got home last night their joy wasn't expressed with squeals but sighs as they sunk into the beds.

LOVE IT!!!! What a GREAT shade of yellow, and I think the furniture arrangement works really well - G'ma's blue desk is awesome beside the bed! Know the girls love it. Maybe you and your mom could help me overhaul Noah and Liv's rooms one day (ha ha!)????? :) They're so ready for a change!
