Alan has a spot in a preschool! He starts on Monday. It's Monday to Friday from 9 to 12 at a local Lutheran church. I'm excited for him. I think he's excited too. We stopped by this morning and met the class and teacher and picked up papers I need to turn in on Monday.
Yesterday a glass man came out to the house and replaced my windshield. Alan had decided early in the morning that he was going to give the glass workers a piece of his candy. He picked out 2, and then decided if there was only one worker, that he'd give both pieces to the one. And a few hours later, when the man showed up, Alan and I were outside raking leaves. Alan ran inside and brought out the candy for the glass guy who was very nice to him - listening to him and carrying on his conversation. I was impressed at Alan's generosity.
Last week sometime Alan opened a MindWare catalog we got in the mail and saw a picture of some blocks we have. He immediately went to his room and brought them out and started playing with them. A few days ago he started using 2 of the blocks as guns. I'm torn on my feelings about toy guns, but if he's using his imagination to make a gun I usually let it go. I don't like him to point even a toy gun at people - and I'm not sure how to or if I should insist that an imaginary gun not be pointed at people. That day I decided to play along a little but I pretended my gun shot out kisses. He went along with it - sort of. He showed me an imaginary switch on the imaginary gun. "You do this to shoot kisses. You do this," he flipped the switch," to shoot FIREBALLS!"

That is so funny about the fireballs! I feel the same as you about guns. But really....what can you do when they are into them? A whole lot of nothing....but the kisses is a great idea!
