I made a slip. I've been wanting to try it for a long time. My grandmother gave me a bunch of her old sewing stuff, including a Kwik Sew book on sewing lingerie and leftover lace and elastic and remnants of slip material (I'm not sure what it is - not cotton). That was years ago. Occasionally I find it and consider trying it. Then I move on to other things. Lately I've been wearing a skirt or two and since it's still a little chilly (say 50) for a summery skirt with no lining I've been wishing either my skirt was lined or I had a nice slip. So today I tried it. But I used a cotton blend. Doing the lingerie elastic and the lace at the bottom were not difficult, and trimming the fabric to the stitches would have been even easier if I'd had a nice pointy pair of scissors. The part I'm not sure about and not completely happy with is the way the lace fits into the seam at the side. I think I'll have to study it some more and decide if it's done or not. And I'll have to wear it and see if it works.

A slip is definitely a good thing on a day with a chilly breeze. There were many a day in AK I wished for a slip. looks cute!
