on a Tuesday

I'm not sure if I'm embarrassed or not.

On Tuesdays Julia has a violin lesson after school. Alan, Holly and I sit in the parking lot while she does her lesson. Today I was talking on the phone to my mom while Holly and Alan were hanging out the windows yelling to their friends in a car a space away from us. Mostly they were yelling goodbye. I think I did hear Alan say something about sticking his butt out. I was concerned for a second that he was in danger of falling out, but when I looked in the mirror, he was not even near the window.

And then a lady came to my window. I've met her. Her daughters are older than Julia, but they've been at parties we've been to for schoolmates. And I see her everyday in the parking lot. I know her name. I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't know mine though.

"Excuse me," she said. "You son has been mooning us across the parking lot."
