Surprises in the Mail

We were very excited to find a package from Grandma Sarah at the front door when we got home from school today. The American Girls got a couple of outfits: That they just adore:

And Alan got his own doll:
That he also adores.
And the cookies were delicious.

Mail is great, isn't it? At least when it's stuff like that!

American Girl dolls are good for what age...?

The girls just got theirs for their birthdays (they're 6 and8). They wanted to take them to the park and make them play today - but they aren't really 'drag through the mud' kind of dolls. They seem well-made, but they're expensive. They can be played with, but they're also collectible. I'm not sure if any of that is helpful? My girls were never big baby doll girls most of the time - but they do enjoy fashion and they seem to like these girls.

Salem wants an American Doll, but I won't let her....they scare me! Is it just me? Aren't they the ones that you can order to look just like your child and buy it matching clothes? NO WAY, SCARY!

Maybe when she's older I'll CONSIDER getting her one!

If and when they get dragged thru the mud too much there is an american girl hospital. Apparently they fix hair and everything and one would hope for a nominal fee.
Cut outfits!!!

Cute outfits and I love Alan's doll - Henry loves dolls!

We are making American Girl Doll clothes around here too...my mom is visiting and brought a few patterns (and lots of patience) to work on with Gwyneth.
