Spring Break

We've been on Spring Break here. I took the kids to my hometown in Tennessee. Met my mom and brother there for the weekend after stopping by at my grandmother's house along the way. My grandmother is moving out of the home she'd lived in for about 40 years and moving to the town where my mom is now. I wasn't bothered at all seeing everything gone and what was left set out on tables garage sale style in the formal living room. I think I said my goodbyes to the old ways of the house at Thanksgiving. But I felt my grandmother's sadness as she said goodbye to the house and the things left and my granddaddy at his grave.

This is the attitude I've been dealing with from the wee ones for the week:

But I'm glad they enjoyed the trip.

It ended with a visit to Cades Cove where the daffodils were blooming. I wish I had a picture of some daffodils- and I had plenty of chances to take more than one picture, but just didn't. I took pictures of the deer instead. And I don't even really like deer.
Alan on the other hand insisted on trying to pet this one. And I'm not sure what was worse in the eyes of the people around us - him walking at it or me fussing at him not to.

So I haven't been running in longer than I care to figure out. Many days on the road I could have used a run by the end of the day to improve my attitude. Hopefully me missing it now means I'll still enjoy it when I get the chance to go.

Looks like a fun trip (except for the three kids in the backseat part, ha!)

I've been dealing with that attitude for the last two years...time to send Gwyneth back to school :)

Hope all is well. I'll be in touch soon!

I love that picture of Cades Cove. Gorgeous.

I can't believe you drove all that way with 3 kids. Wow.
