First Day of Summer Break

I made some banana bread. Looks a little dark. Maybe that means it's not gooey inside. And Holly and I (and Alan) made her brownies. It might have been before 7 am. The recipe doesn't do a great job of explaining how to fill the cups. It says to fill them to the top, but also says use half the batter. We filled them to the top, and it used all the batter. I think we were really supposed to fill them halfway, use half the batter, and end up with 12 brownies.
Holly wanted to play school this morning and started reading a book aloud. Eventually Alan sat down to be her student. It was really interesting to hear her read a little and then ask him questions... the book is Daisy the Fire Cow. The fire chief really wanted a dalmation for a mascot and he was angry in part of the book. Holly's question to Alan was why did Alan think the man was angry? When Daisy set off on an adventure she asked Alan where he thought Daisy was going to go. She prompted him by reminding him of the name of the book. Looks like that schooling's working with her.
