and I pulled Julia off the computer to help take my picture. I was trying to tell her to rotate the camera.
I like it. I ended up taking in the side seams for a closer fit through the bodice. I didn't intend to make a dress this long when I was looking for patterns, but think I like the length. I just might make another and make the skirt a little less full and a little shorter... This skirt has the grain of the fabric going across instead of down. And since I jumped in without carefully examining the pattern layout and pieces... let's just say I wasn't very happy when I realized my mistake. I ended up having enough fabric to make it work the way it was intended, though.
And now the girls have requested dresses. I have a pattern for a similar girls dress - that I also had to take in at the sides of the bodice for them... And it is getting warmer...

I like the print you used. Shorter would be cute too, but I like it long. SOrry I have pretty much fallen off the face of the earth. I would still love to see you soon. Tutoring is wrapping up though it looks like I will only have a week off between regular and summer session. We will talk soon.
So pretty! I love the color! ...and the style! Hope you had a good birthday (did the kids do something special? ...like maybe just keep the peace for the day so you could relax and feel happy and not have to play "bad cop" mom? That was my Mother's Day request this year!). :)
