Lazy Days - sort of

We went to the lake today. With floats. On the bright side it gave the girls something new to fuss at each other about. Alan wasn't so interested in sharing his - or really in laying on it. I'm not sure what he was doing with it for the most part. But all in all it was fun to be at the lake. When we first got there, some boys swimming in the water - or their mom - said she thought she saw an alligator. And the lifeguard cleared the water. It was a stump. But just imagine what I was thinking while Holly wanted to know why we couldn't get in the water. I'm pretty sure if we'd told her that someone thought they saw an alligator, she wouldn't have gone swimming today.

The girls have taken to running. I'm a little jealous since I haven't really run in weeks. But I'm expecting them to be running with me soon. They both have new athletic shoes now. And Alan can go pretty fast on his bike. I think our foursome could at least lap the pond a little.

And we've been biking - to the library, the grocery, and the video store mostly. I'm amazed and impressed with the improvements they've made in their riding. Rarely whining anymore about the heat or tired legs and rarely needing or wanting to stop for water.

So far it's been a good summer. We're now counting weeks to school starting on the 18th of August. Everyone is officially registered. Just need to find a sure thing preschool for Alan.

gotta watch those alligators. I'm putting aug. 18 on my calendar so that I won't ask you more than 5 more times when school starts.
