the Fire Museum

Alan likes to do something special when the girls go to school. One of his favorite things to do is go to the beach. Maybe the fire museum in North Charleston ranks high on his list now, too. We went sometime last month with Sean. There is a truck simulator that was a big hit with the kids there. Very high tech.
Alan loved driving. He could watch a street scene on the windshield as he drove and ran the siren.
He even liked to watch other kids drive. I was impressed with how he and all the other kids shared the driver seat and enjoyed just watching.

He was a little hesitant to try out the pole though. Luckily there is also a huge slide at the top of the steps and that provided a lot of entertainment, too.
We also walked around and looked at old trucks. I got to read a little bit from the exhibits on fire safety and history. We watched a little video in a small movie theater with a rather creepy mannequin narrator. Alan got bored with that... I think the girls might have had a better attention span for it. Can't wait to take them back here, too.
