Scarecrows on the Square

Alan, Sean and I walked around downtown to check out the scarecrows on the square yesterday after lunch.
I loved the monster in the window and these jars that gave me ideas (that I'm not going to copy but may have if I'd seen this last week) for Julia's party tomorrow night. The big jar in the back is labelled "Precious the Pickled Pug" or something like that. One of the jars in front is greasy grimy gopher guts. Ha!

One of the displays had a pot of fake rats in fake cheese and it still made my stomach quease a little.

Different groups put up their displays in different categories. Seemed like a little bit of free advertising for a lot of them - dentists and lawyers and whatnot. There were also displays by a girl scouts troop and a few schools.

Wouldn't have been a complete "special thing" without a picture of someone behind a wooden sign. This one happens to be part of Julia's orthodontist office's display.

One of the schools that had a display or two was Pinewood Prep. I liked the sign - "Our sport is your sport's punishment". I've probably heard that before or seen it on the back of a cross country t-shirt, but it struck me a little funnier after listening all season to the soccer coaches threaten their teams with running when the kids are having trouble paying attention. You guys want to run??
