All Clean.

The girls got the okay from their school nurses to go back to class today. Honestly, the school's "no nit" policy is more of a "not too many nits" policy. Each nurse took 2 wooden picks and rummaged around the back of the girl's head. Not the thorough inspection I gave them this morning and yesterday and Friday.

I inspected each head again tonight before bed and got a few more off.

I did learn a few things from the experience. Like lice like 'clean' hair. As in hair with no styling products on it. You can bet we will be using products. And olive oil is great for getting the nits to slide off the hair. The nits (lice eggs) are glued onto the strand of hair usually close to the scalp. I resorted to pulling the hairs out for awhile before I discovered the wonder of the olive oil. Olive oil will also smother any live lice.

As much as I don't want the girls to feel ashamed about having lice - I am disgusted by it and I hope we never find another on a head in this house. Ick. Yuck.
