Greenville

My mom and I are in Greenville for my niece's 8th birthday today. In my brother's house, the birthday person gets whatever he or she wants for the day. My niece picked walking around downtown.

We went to a park and walked across the biggest one-sided suspension bridge in North America. I had to touch the rail as I walked when my knees got weak.

This man is some kind of re-enactor I think. He said something about Savannah and that he is that statue person. Maybe. I just smiled and nodded.

And after walking in the Mast General Store and a toy shop (where no one made a purchase) we headed back to the car. In the sidewalk outside a bank were lots of quotes.

Putting off a hard thing makes it impossible. George Horace Lorimer. How true.
All through the downtown are these little mice statues, based on a book called Mice on Main. Some are obvious and some are hidden. All were fun to find.

It was fun. Now we're just waiting to find out what the birthday girl wants to have for dinner - besides cake.

(Notice the shirt? A gift from me - "I love play'n like a girl" for my niece who runs 5Ks with her dad and hikes mountains with her brother. She's impressive!)
