Fiber Arts

Julia is trying to learn to crochet. She wants to make a washrag and then make baby booties for her teacher. She's slowly getting the hang of it. And I'm impressed with how she is sticking with it. I bet sitting down with her Grandma Sarah for a few lessons would really improve her skills, too.Holly - not to be left out - will pick up my knitting when I'm not looking and work a few stitches for me. Again, I'm impressed with what she does. The first time I made a hat my fingers hurt for a week after because my stitches were too tight. I can't really tell Holly's stitches from my own.
I've wanted to teach the girls to crochet and knit for a long time. We've never had patience and coordination at the same time and in enough quantities to do it. Looks like the time is coming. We can have our own knitting circle! (Because I really prefer knitting to crochet - and I'm hoping I can convert Julia one of these days...)
