Birthday Boy

According to Alan he didn't turn 5 until he opened his gifts and had a party. So Sunday after breakfast he got right to it.He loved Holly's card for him - even though it was an Easter card. It sings.

After presents they played Pin the Tail on the Donkey.
And played with some toys.
My nephew let Alan have the flight suit we got for him when he was (hopefully) Alan's size. They gave it to us when we were in Beaufort and I wrapped it with the other gifts. Big hit.

After a lunch snack we headed out to the Flowertown Festival. Kiddie rides, funnel cakes, corn dogs...
a big bumpy slide that Alan got to go on because he was too short to go on the ride the girls were on...
face painting that tickled...
and then a hasty departure.
There was a storm coming and the festival was shut down early. So most of what we did there ended up being for kids. But that was okay.
