I used to listen to a lot of kid music in the car. Then nothing. Or talk radio. Maybe some country. I made a few mixed cd's. Or played cd's of my favorites.

Sometimes Julia would request certain songs from the cd's that she could sing along to. Suds in the Bucket was one. I May Hate Myself in the Morning. Some songs it's just disturbing to listen to a child sing them... I may hate myself in the morning, but I'm gonna love you tonight! I eventually "lost" a few cd's.

Now when I play cd's I'm amazed at how many songs the girls (and even Alan) can sing along to. And the girls especially have started asking about the stories behind the songs. Like Alison Krause's Whiskey Lullaby. A whole discussion came out of that on suicide and can drinking really kill you? I liked the talk much better about the story behind Brooks and Dunn's song Believe.

Now Alan sings right along with the girls when they're singing along to Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus. He even breaks out into the songs on his own.

Nothings sweeter than listening to their trio... as long as I get to choose the songs.
