I imagine she thinks we have a party - order pizza and eat dessert with every meal. I'm pretty sure whatever she's imagining is probably more exciting that the reality.
This weekend Oliver came to town because the girls were supposed to have soccer games. Due to wet fields, the games were cancelled. But he still came. He got to town late Friday so I drove the kids to the hotel bright and early Saturday morning. In the hustle of getting out of the house and the excitement of them seeing him, I forgot to bring Oliver the leftover dessert Holly really wanted her daddy to have from our Friday night dinner. And the kids left the Monopoly game in the car. I'm sure they found other things to do.
Sean and I stayed around the house Saturday morning. Just before lunch we picked up some sandwiches at the grocery and went to Colonial Dorchester State Park. It's the site of a colonial village. We walked around and read all the plaques. Ate sandwiches. Then we went home. Sean went for a bike ride. Riding hurt my back/leg, so I stayed here. Sean played with leftovers to make a new dinner. We played Scrabble (I won) and he watched a movie while I finished a book.
Now Sean's at work and I'm trying to clean house.
I miss the kids when they aren't around. I think I miss them more when they're here in town doing things I don't know about than I do when they go off to Alabama - even though it's nice to get a break and have a day to sleep in.
