Jillian is starting to move around a little.  She was pleased with herself when she managed to get in the saucer the other day.
Yesterday we went to a company picnic at the shipyard where Sean works part-time.  They served hotdogs and hamburgers and had jump castles and carnival games.  At the girls' school Family Fun Night there was an inflated caterpillar that I thought was just a tunnel.  They went in one end and came out the other.  At this event there was a dragon.  They went in the mouth...
and came out the other end.  Hm.
There were also a few tractors on display.  Three years ago, Alan would have bee-lined it to the tractors.  Yesterday we played a few games and ate lunch before meandering over to check them out.
There were maybe 6 in all - Farmall and John Deere.  No two were the same size.  One was a two-seater.
If I hadn't worn a skirt I'd have ridden the bull.  Sean rode after Alan refused.  Alan got on and then got off.  I'm not sure what he was afraid of... maybe it had to do with the saddle being so slick.  Sean flew right off the other side as he tried to mount the first time.  Gave the guys running the ride a little chuckle...
Before we left the kids played carnival games over and over and over.  Holly really wanted a stuffed frog prize, and Sean eventually won it for her.  She then turned around and played some other game to win a stuffed turtle.  And Sean won a cool alarm clock as a door prize.  It responds to voice commands.  (As in - "Seven PM" and not "Five more minutes!")
I think the kids had a good time.  As we went in, we were handed reuseable grocery bags and trinkets with the company name on them.  That's the bag that Alan's carrying in the picture. There were pictures on display from Family Days from 2004 to 2010.  Julia wants to go again next year, to see if we made it into any of the pictures for 2011. Guess we'll see...
