Alan's First Day of School

Yesterday was Alan's first day of preschool. He's in a program to go 5 days a week. I was hoping to ease in with a 3 day program, but I'm thrilled he's got a spot and he seems to like it. He forgot his backpack, but didn't really need it for anything. And having some papers in his cubby seemed to make not having a backpack to hang up okay.
We stopped by last Thursday and he met the class and teacher. He was shy then, but walked right in yesterday.

They started the day painting leaves to print on placemats for their Thanksgiving Feast. And the new friend next to Alan at the table excitedly told him, "And YOU'RE INVITED!"
One of the stations in the room is this reading spot. A claw foot bathtub filled with pillows. When Alan told his teacher the one problem was that he can't read, she told him - none of us can yet, so we listen to the stories with the earphones.

And at the end of the day, she walked him to the car, strapped him in, got him to share some of the things they did yesterday. When she asked if he was coming back tomorrow, he answered with a good strong YES. Hooray!
