This is my friend Sean's backyard. He has a rope hanging from that tree. And the kids like to swing on it and climb on it. Until recently Alan could only get up to the third knot. Today he got to the sixth.
It was amazing to watch from the time the highest he could go was Knot 2. He wanted it so much and tried so hard. This is a boy who walks his bike over not so big bumps in the sidewalk, so I am also thrilled to see him daring at something. But his otherwise cautious nature leads me to think he must feel pretty secure up there. Thankfully.
