Inspiration

After the soccer games on Saturday, the kids and I went to see my mom. My brother and his family were in town there for the Ocean Isle Oyster Festival 5K. My 7 yr old niece came in 2nd of all the kids under 10 (I think). A 9 yr old boy beat her. I'm sure David will correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm amazed.

I haven't run a 5K yet. I never thought I'd trained enough. I'm not sure what I'm waiting for. I probably could have run one last spring just fine. Then over the summer with my hip/back hurting and slacking off my consistency in running... But my niece doesn't train. She just runs. And maybe there's a significant difference because she's 7 and I'm 36, but I think she might push me if I tried to run with her. And I think because she runs (and doesn't stop) I'm inspired.

I'm ready to try it.
