Cleanup

This weekend involved a lot of driving. The kids spent the weekend with Oliver in Alabama, so we met halfway on Friday. Then Saturday Sean and I loaded up some furniture and took it to my mom. She managed somehow to give us more furniture to bring back than we took in the first place. Hm.

We brought back a little desk for Alan's room. I wanted to move out the iron shelf to use it in the living room, but he was devastated at the change. He likes his stuff. While he was at school today I finished hanging a curtain rod in his room. There are only 6 extra holes to spackle. Apparently I underestimated the width of the window flashing over and over again.

The girls ended up with a bookcase on their dresser as a hutch. And a couple of cubbies that were moved to make room for a dresser we brought back and is now in our closet. I think I have plenty of places to stash their little treasures... just have to figure out which treasures should go where...

And before we left on Friday Sean and I found this fan at Home Depot for $30. Clearance. Last one. They pulled it off display for us. It replaces one I broke a blade off dusting. Serves me right for cleaning.

I gave Alan a haircut. Only cost me a dollar. Bribery for not taking him to the barber. I found a book at the library last week that I glanced at before I started. Turns out I've been doing it right all along, but gave me a little more confidence.

And here's the reason for the trip. Aside from delivery of the other stuff, we were planning to bring back this animal bench. From my mom's Uncle John's store. It was used in the children's shoes section.

It was a pretty productive weekend. All the car riding set me back in my physical therapy. But riding yesterday with a pillow behind my back left me feeling much better than I felt after the drive on Friday. I'm just ready to be healed already.
