the Apple Hat

I first learned to knit from my friend Jennifer. She taught me to make this hat. This is what I started knitting when Julia started talking about making something for her teacher who is having a baby this summer. An apple hat for a teacher's baby seems very fitting.

This is what Holly would pick up and start knitting on. Maybe working in the round on the circular needles made knitting easier for her. She didn't have to work too hard to move the stitches around the needle and I didn't worry too much about her dropping stitches as she went. (I got the chance to show her how to pick up dropped stitches only 3 times.)

I love this hat.

I always secretly hoped you would make me a hat like that for Reid, until I got the awesome towel and bib, which we use ALL THE TIME, versus a hat which we would hardly use. Good thing you chose the gift for us and not me ;0)
