Knitting again

I made a baby hat not too long ago. That's been my usual way to get back into the knitting mood. While I was looking through my stash for the right yarn, I found 4 half-finished socks.

I didn't remember what pattern I was using for which sock. Maybe I should have kept that information with each project.

I decided to rip out 2 of the socks. I kept 2, this one which I remember promising to Alan - and I think they'll still fit him - and another that is 3/4 of the way done and should fit me or Julia.
I used a second set of needles to start the second sock off the same yarn skein. I thought I'd enjoy finishing the pair instead of finishing the first sock and feeling like I was starting over on the second.

Of course now I'm itching to start some other projects - more baby hats, some soakers for cloth diapers, washcloths... pretty much anything but this pair of socks.

If this compulsion is saying something about my personality, I'm not sure I like it.

Right now I'm glad to be knitting again.

As a side note, while looking for a pattern I ended up signing in to my Ravelry account. (Ravelry is an online group for knitters to show projects and discuss patterns and whatnot.) I'd uploaded a picture of one of the socks I'd started and just ripped out. I'd also documented the pattern and yarn I was using. What a good idea! I guess I could always start it over...

Hi! I'd like to make the kiddos some fingerless gloves for Xmas. Do they already have something like that?
