Vacation in Tennessee

We just got back from a weeklong vacation in Tennessee. Sean goes every year for his grandpa's birthday and a family reunion. Monday we went fishing with Grandpa. Holly caught the first 6 fish. I took the kids to the swimming area while Sean and Grandpa tried to catch up to Holly's count. I fit in a little knitting and Julia fit in a little reading while we waited for the swim area to open.Tuesday we went to the Oak Ridge Pool. This is the pool where Sean and I met as lifeguards.
It's been renovated since I worked there but was mostly the same. Our friend Kevin - who also worked with us - was in town, too, and joined us at the pool with his son and significant other. Kevin spent a little time on the high dive trying to give the guards a hard time.
The girls both jumped off the high dive with no fear. Holly then wanted to stay in the diving area for the rest of the afternoon.
Kevin called our old boss and she came over to the pool and chatted with us - even got in the water. The guards had to jump in for a little girl about 20 feet from where we were talking. Sean and I both started moving in that direction when the horn went off. Old habits I guess.

Wednesday Sean's mom had a family baby shower dinner for us. The girls helped put out the food and decorations.

Then Thursday we headed to the lake where Kevin's family has a lake lot. We rented trainer skis for the kids and they spent Friday learning to ski and dive.
I think they got a good start on learning to dive while in Pennsylvania with Oliver because it didn't take long.

They loved riding on the boat.

The girls did really well skiing. After a few tries both popped right up and made it a pretty long way standing.
Their best attempts didn't get on film since I had to put the camera down to really enjoy it and clap.
Each girl thought the other was doing it better.
Alan tried twice - once each boat outing. I think he would have had it on the third attempt but he was finished after the second.

They learned to dive faster than Amy. I had to teach her and only after many years of work. Glad to see all is well! :o)
