Happy Days -

Alan's joined the Cub Scouts.  He seems to really like the meetings - even though I hear from Sean that they're pretty boring.  I think it's the playing with other boys before or after the 'meeting' part that keeps Alan going back.  And the fact that he's excited about camping and all the rest.  The first campout is next weekend...

We've been battling a flea infestation in the backyard for the last few weeks.  This past weekend Alan wanted to get something out of the back, but didn't think it was okay to go back there yet.  Unfortunately, the fleas still jump on you when you go far enough back in the yard, but they're enough under control that Alan could go do whatever it was... and while he was back there he spotted this:
I assume he's been feasting on the garbage in the compost bin.

Yay, Alan!
And yay, Jillian.  I don't think I mentioned that she's taking a few steps here and there.  Julia called me at church where I'd taken Holly for choir practice - the choir she's in ends after 5th grade and Alan didn't want to do choir so it was just the two of us.
Seems like there was something else I wanted to tell the world - but I'm tired and not thinking straight...

OH.

THIS IS IMPORTANT IF YOU THINK YOU WILL EVER MAKE LUNCHES TO TAKE TO SCHOOL.

I've started making peanut butter sandwiches and freezing them.

And I portioned out a whole bag of pretzels into snack baggies.

And now it only takes a couple of minutes in the morning to put their lunches together.  AND I'm not worried that if we have toast for breakfast one day that I won't have enough bread for sandwiches come Friday.

It's a great thing!

Who knew you could freeze pb&j and it would still be good at lunch time??

And now I will be freezing sandwiches! That makes it so much easier than rushing around here in the morning herding cats and making Reid a lunch. Thanks for the tip!

Look at Jillian! What a big girl!
