Holly's birthday and other things from November

We had a family party - with one friend - for Holly's birthday.  She requested a Mexican fiesta, and we tried to give it to her.  We had tacos and enchiladas and quesadillas - and a pinata.  Badminton.  I whacked Sean's hand with the stick while he held the pinata.  Holly got an iPod.  And Julia got jealous.  And she got some white boots with white fur and pom poms.  And a journal that opens to her voice.  We started the day at Waffle House where Alan announced to the restaurant that his teacher prefers IHOP.  One of the waitresses told him to be sure to tell his teacher that Waffle House is better, and then she gave him a hat.

The kids went with Oliver to Mississippi for Thanksgiving.  We met up in Greenville and got to see a little of my brother and his family before parting ways.

After the drama at Awana, Julia hadn't been going anymore. I don't really think she missed it. The church ended up splitting the class into a younger and an older group, but I still planned to stay out. I've been enjoying Wednesday nights at home with the kids. Holly's even taking a break from the church choir - which I have mixed feelings about, but again I'm enjoying Wednesdays at home with them. Then last night the friend who goes to Awana called asking if Julia wanted to go.  I think she missed having Julia there.  And so Julia went.  And everything was fine.  Nothing to talk about afterward though - not even what was for snack.
