Yesterday Holly decided she doesn't want to dance in the recital anymore. As much as I wanted to tell her that was fine and she didn't have to do it, I couldn't. I told her she made a commitment to dance with her classmates and she needed to talk to her teacher about being nervous about being on stage. I tried to tell her that the rehearsal last night was to make sure everyone knew where to go and when... because the last rehearsal they had of the whole ballet, her number mark wasn't on the floor and that made her pretty much decide she didn't want to dance. She didn't really listen to me when I tried to assure her that everything would be okay.
But then we went to rehearsal and she was beaming after she'd practiced her dance. She's ready for the stage... unless she changes her mind.
