Mr. Al

I drove Alan and a classmate for their field trip today to see Mr. Al in concert.

I didn't know who he was or what to expect. The concert was entertaining - and luckily we were often prompted to stand because sitting for that hour would have been painful. It was loud. The kids eventually seemed to get tired. But all in all they all had fun.

I thought the car rides there and back to school were as entertaining as the concert. Alan's friend's uncle is visiting for the week. He has a new girlfriend. She doesn't know where he lives. He and his girlfriend are staying at her grandma's because there's too much stuff in the extra bedroom and they don't have room. She was impressed with Alan "reading" a book he's heard a hundred times. She asked him to spell pumpkin. He told her it starts with a 'P'. She asked him to spell happy. 'H-A-P-P-Y'. Wow! You are a great speller! May have helped that his birthday was yesterday. In the car heading back to school she told us her dad was arrested. He went to jail. But then the police let him go. I wasn't sure what to say to that. She was a really sweet girl. This was her second concert. Her first concert what Hannah Montana. Wonder how she thought Mr. Al compared. She also told Alan that Superman and Wonder Woman are boyfriend/girlfriend. And that they kiss a lot. I said I thought Superman loved Lois Lane. She didn't know what to say to that.

Kids.

You can keep up to date on the wide world of comic book romances like that through Wikipedia. For the record, Suerman married Lois Lane several years ago. (Being a comic book guru I know these sorts of trivial things. lol)
