Obedience

As I drove to my mom's this morning I saw a man walking his dog. Not on a leash. The man told the dog to sit and stay. Then he crossed the street alone. Then he called the dog - when it was safe - and the dog bounded across the street to him.

I saw him do it twice.

The dog sat and stayed until the man called him. Even when a car drove down the street and turned at the corner where the dog sat.

I'm impressed.

Not sure if I'm more impressed at the well-trained, obedient dog, or the man with the confidence to leave his dog sitting at the corner while a car goes by.
